From 2015 to 2020, Bank Al Maghrib undertook a major renovation project of its headquarters located on Avenue Mohammed V.
While the quality of a restoration is often revealed in the details, it is always grounded in a thorough understanding of the history of the building. In this instance, the edifice has the unique characteristic of being an architectural superposition blending a variety of design typologies and construction techniques, and housing architectural treasures and historical vestiges. It was therefore necessary to skillfully navigate the topographical complexity of one of the most prestigious buildings in the capital.
This renovation, the first undertaken since the last extensions in the 1970s, spanned five years due to the complexity of the mission.

Following the studies undertaken as early as 2009, the refurbishment project involved a profound transformation: rehabilitation, renovation, restoration, consolidation... The scope of the work varied according to the condition of the building and its different surfaces. The project was carried out by a team of two architects and a select group of workers and craftsmen across the various trades related to heritage conservation. The distribution of spaces within the building was designed by the architects, who ensured that the renovation was conducted in harmony with the history of the edifice, whose façades are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
