Bills of exchange
The bill of exchange is an integral part of commercial papers, which are marketable securities representative of a claim due at specific maturity (governed by the Commercial Code - articles 159 to 238).
The bill of exchange is an order whereby a person called "the drawer" instructs another person called "the drawee" to pay, on an agreed date, a specified amount to a "beneficiary" who may be the drawer himself.
